Syria: Berlin prosecutors urge life sentence in war crimes trial
In a German trial, the prosecution found Moafak D. (a former militiaman from Syria) guilty of war crimes committed in 2014 in the Palestinian refugees camp of Yarmouk (Damascus). For the plaintiffs in Berlin, this does not go far enough.
In a German court, a former militiaman from Syria is accused of firing a grenade into a crowd of civilians gathered to collect food, in March 2014. In its closing statement, last Thursday in Berlin, the prosecution found Moafak D. guilty of war crimes. For the plaintiffs, this does not go far enough.
